Elizabeth Forman

As a therapist, my goal is to work with you as a team and to create a safe place for you to reflect, process and work towards your goals.

Are you feeling controlled by feelings of anxiety and stress? Do you feel held back by limiting beliefs about yourself? Maybe you have encountered extremely difficult situations in your life and are looking for new ways to cope. My name is Elizabeth and I would be honored to walk with you on your healing journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia with almost a decade of experience in the field of mental health treatment. I completed both my Bachelor of Science (BS) in Communication Sciences and Disorders and my Master of Science (MS) in Mental Health Counseling at Longwood University. I have worked in both community mental health and private practice settings providing clinical assessment and therapy services to adults 18+. In my therapy work, I utilize the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy model to help you create a new, flexible relationship with your thoughts, emotions, and memories.

With this flexibility, my hope is to empower you to take actions that align with your values. Person-centered care, along with mindfulness and self compassion are also foundational components in my therapeutic approach. I believe that you have the potential to live a fulfilling and meaningful life, even in light of the stress and suffering we endure as humans together.

“You shouldn’t be ashamed of your pain; you have the right to have your pain treated.”
